Course Purpose: The Course in Safe Work in Confined Spaces aims to provide industry with the introductory understanding and knowledge to continue or commence work in Confined Spaces.
Course Format: Face-to-face training covering three modules, however Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available to participants with relevant training and/or experience in Confined Space equipment.
Course Assessment: Participants will be required to complete a theory examination at the end of the training session. This assessment will measure competence in each element and verifies the participant has the underpinning knowledge in the complete unit of competence.
Qualification Issued: SCS00102A Work Safely in Confined Spaces, SCS00202A Select and Use Respiratory Protection Devices for Work in Confined Spaces and SCS00303A Apply Basic Fire Protection Techniques in partial completion of Safe Work in Confined Spaces 39080 QLD. Direct credit is available for a person who has a current first aid certificate and therfore can be awarded the full qualification "Safe work in confined spaces 39080QLD"
Certification: A4 display certificate plus a plastic wallet card
Pre-requisites: No pre-requisite or co-requisites.
Target audience: Current legislation requires that all persons performing activities in relation to Confined Spaces must undertake specific training and assessment to enable them to work in Confined Spaces. There is self rescue breathing apparatus but no Breathing Apparatus or accreditation attached to such use.
