QLD Construction Induction (Blue Card)

Registration Details:  Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) Registered Training Organisation number 90909 and ABN 63 114 756 857

Course Purpose: To provide existing and potential building and construction industry workers with the introductory understanding and knowledge to continue or commence work in the building and construction industry.

Course Format:
Option One: 4 Hours Face-to-Face Training

Option Two: Distance education course (Self-paced and on line) enabling the participant to undertake the study at their home or workplace. The on line program is expected to take up to 4 hours to complete

Course Assessment:

1.Classroom face to face participants will be required to complete a theory examination at the end of the training session. This assessment will measure competence in each element and verifies the participant competence.

2. Distance/ self paced on line - Assessments will take place at the end of each section of the program and results recorded so you can view your progress within the program no matter how many times you visit the on line program to complete the course. A further telephone assessment will be conducted with successful candidates.

Qualification Issued: Statement of attainment –30215 QLD Course in General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) In completion of unit of competency GSIBC001: Abide by and apply basic Health and Safety requirements in the building and construction industry.

Certification: A Blue Card issued on the day of the training by the instructor, issued by Workplace Health and Safety Induction Card (Blue Card) and the student will receive in the mail, an A4 display certificate.

Prerequisites: There are no restrictions on entry to this course. However, Participants need to demonstrate the following language, literacy and numeracy skills:

- Be able to carry out a conversation at the workplace

- Be able to demonstrate basic reading skills wich allow the paticipant to work safely

- Be able to communicate sufficiently to report hazards

- Mathematical skills sufficient to understand expiry dates

Should any prospective students not possessing these skills they should discuss their needs with the resident trainer prior to or as part of the enrolment/induction process or contact Allens Training if participating in the distance on line program to determine what remedial training is required.

 Target Audience: This course is suitable for anyone entering the construction industry.
