HLTAMB014 Transport non-emergency patients under operational conditions

Information about the course:

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to load, unload and drive vehicles safely to transport non-emergency patients to and from a facility or service. It includes using communication equipment and checking vehicles and equipment in order to restock and remedy faults.

This unit applies to pre-hospital/out-of-hospital health care workers.

The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand Standards and industry codes of practice.

There are no pre requisites for this course.

Target audience:

The qualification focuses on work in the ambulance industry done by volunteers or pre-hospital/out-of-hospital health care workers who provide a basic emergency response and transport roles in areas where there is a relatively low workload.

Award issued:

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for:

  • Option 1 Full course: 14 hours face-to-face training
