This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to operate in a self-contained regenerative oxygen breathing apparatus in Metalliferous mining.

This unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles.

No licensing, legislation or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Target audience:

This competency applies to persons employed in operational roles that required the use of SCBA. They may also be required to use it in emergency situations.

There are no prerequisites for this unit.

Award issued:

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment:

Course duration:

  • Full course: 7 hours face-to-face
  • Refresher course: 7 hours face-to-face
