Information about the course:
These units cover the entering and working in confined spaces in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes planning and preparing for entry of confined spaces, entry and working in confined spaces, exiting confined spaces and cleaning up.
These units also address the need for personnel to understand the permit system and to know how to work in accordance with a permit.
These units are also about testing the working atmosphere to determine if it is safe for the proposed work. Testing involves the use of electronic test apparatus.
These unit also covers competence associated with the operation and maintenance of breathing apparatus equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere.
These units also cover how to provide CPR to a casualty.
This course requires students to successfully complete all the 5 units of competency. Student must successfully meet all criteria for all units to be deemed competent. - MSMWHS217 Gas test atmospheres
- HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
