PUAEME001B Provide emergency care

Information about the course:

This unit covers the competency to provide emergency care pending the arrival of appropriately qualified personnel.

The unit applies to all safety workers who are required to provide inital life-saving emergency care at an incident. It is not designed for workers whose primary response role is one of emergency care, first aid, or pre-hospital care.

Target audience:

Those who are required to provide emergency care pending the arrival of appropriately qualified personnel.

Course Requirements:

There are no entry, work-placement, licencing or certification requirements for this course.

Students are not required to bring any materials or equipment with them to the course.

Prerequisites:

  • PUAFIR215 Prevent injury

Award issued:

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment:

  • PUAEME001B Provide emergency care

Course duration:

  • Full course: 18 hours face to face training
  • Mixed mode: 2 hours pre-course study and 16 hours face to face training
